jillphoto"I started running 3 years ago to take up the challenge of doing the Brathay Windermere Marathon of which I completed and have never looked back, that journey from when I started to now has completely changed my life physically, mentally and emotionally.
I taught myself to train for that marathon which was hard to keep the motivation going so after the marathon I began to sought advice from various trainers and fellow runners of how to improve my performance.
 
I started with James last October (2007), I had my goals and I´m self motivated but was training too hard and ineffectively so James has helped me over the last 7 months to train effectively and to look at all aspects of my training including, cross training, stretching, diet and nutrition and recovery.
My sessions with James take place in the gym and centre around Core work, the fundamental part of performing well. James sets me exercises to do that all improve the performance of my running.
 
Since starting with James the results have been self evident, I have dropped nearly 2 dress sizes with my body changing shape and toning up from the core work and have knocked over 17 minutes off my half marathan time taking me to a PB of 1.47 at Keswick.
My next goal, an ultra marathon in June 2010 of which I will work with James to achieve it.
